Biden to Send 'Urgent Budget Request' to Congress to Fund American Allies

US President Joe Biden said on October 19 that an “urgent budget request” would be sent to Congress to fund “national security needs” and support US allies. The White House is expected to request $100 billion dollars to deliver aid and resources to Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan and border management, according to media reports.“It’s a smart investment that’s going to pay dividends for American security for generations,” Biden said.During the address, Biden linked US actions against Hamas in Israel and Vladimir Putin in Ukraine.“We have not forgotten the mass graves and the bodies found bearing signs of torture and thousands and thousands of Ukrainian children forcibly taken into Russia and stolen from their parents. It’s sick,” he said.“Hamas and Putin represent different threats but they share this in common: they want to completely annihilate a neighboring democracy.” Credit: The White House via Storyful
