Smoke from wildfires burning in South America could be seen on CSU/CIRA & NOAA’s satellites on Wednesday, September 4.Footage shows the smoke wafting across the western side of the continent, near Peru, Ecuador, and Columbia.Local media reported that a large wildfire was brought under control in southern Ecuador on Tuesday.A separate fire was also burning near Bogota in Colombia on Wednesday, according to local media.Greenpeace also reported on severe fires burning in the Brazilian Amazon.
