A Louisiana couple took to their kayaks after their property in Mandeville was flooded on September 12, following the deluge brought by Hurricane Francine.Michael S Young recorded himself and his wife drifting around their inundated field. “We can kayak our whole field now. It’s all a lake,” Young can be heard saying in his video. “We’ve never kayaked our land before,” he added.“It’s a good thing the road is under because we will be in bed the rest of the week after paddling our way through the neighborhood!” he wrote on Facebook. “No water in the house, just under it, and we kept power. We are just ‘shipwrecked’ for a few days!” he wrote.The National Weather Service had a flash flood warning in place for the region on Thursday, warning residents to move to higher ground and avoid walking or driving through floodwaters.
