Traffic was at a near standstill on the I-90 in Lackawanna, New York, on January 13 as the National Weather Service (NWS) warned that some bands of lake-effect snow could significantly reduce visibility on the roads.Cars and trucks were brought to a crawling speed westbound on the I-90 due to a disabled vehicle blocking the right lane near Exit 55, the New York State Thruway said. Delays plagued commuters for over two hours before the incident was cleared. The video by Daniel J. D. Pollina shows traffic on the westbound side of the interstate moving slowly, bumper-to-bumper past the exit for Lackawanna.Pollina told Storyful: “I have never seen traffic this backed up before. It went on for miles before traffic finally looked somewhat normal again.”The NWS said northern Erie and Genesee Counties should brace for up to 7 inches of snow accumulation and 35 mph wind gusts.
