There’s no bond like that between a mother and her child, something remarkably demonstrated in a poignant video made by South Carolina woman Lula Smith amid tragic circumstances.Footage from Smith shows her holding her crying niece, Cherry, just a few days after the baby’s mother died, in April 2023.Cherry seems immediately soothed when Smith gives her the teddy bear, which plays the sound of her mother’s heartbeat.Smith told Storyful that her sister, Kahlilah, was 29 when she died from an asthma attack.Kahlilah was survived by her five daughters, of which Cherry is the youngest.“The family still struggles since mom’s passing,” Smith said. “So grateful for dad, as he has all the girls.
