A car was seen sinking into an icy river in Indianapolis after a failed recovery mission by the Indianapolis Fire Department on January 27.Officials said said a tactical team was called to assist with recovering a car sitting on top of the ice.The car was found lodged in a hole in the ice and crews were unsuccessful in bringing the vehicle to the shore for tow, according to the fire department. Crews would have to go back in the spring to recover the vehicle, they added.No information was given about how the car got there, or where the owner was. However, the fire department noted other activity on the ice, including bike tracks. Based on this, they warned: “We can’t stress this enough. In Indiana - NO ICE IS SAFE ICE.
