A layer of snow covered the parking lot in front of the All High Stadium in Buffalo, New York, in the early hours of Thursday, December 12, as the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast up to 3 feet of accumulation in parts of Erie County.Footage filmed by Cheddi Skeete shows snow coming down on cars in the early hours of Thursday.In the video, Skeete says that it took about 20 seconds for the parking lot to be covered by snow. “So this lake-effect snow is coming in, and is coming in pretty fast,” he says, calling the storm “impressive.”The NWS warned that gusty winds combined with the heavy snow would produce “near-whiteout conditions at times” for parts of Erie County on Thursday.“Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands,” the weather service said. “If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.”A lake-effect snow warning would remain in place for Buffalo until Friday afternoon.
