Police arrived at the University of California in Santa Cruz early on Friday, May 31, to begin clearing a pro-Palestinian encampment on campus.Video filmed by X user @fortnitelver650 shows police blocking roads and amassing around the encampment on campus early on Friday morning.The encampment has been in place since May 1, according to the university, and employees have been asked to work remotely since May 20 due to protest action.A local news report from Lookout Santa Cruz said the university and local police barred media outlets from campus. Lookout said students on the ground reported police detentions of protesters, and other news outlets reported detentions, but there had been no official report of arrests on Friday at the time of writing.
