Weather officials warned of the possibility of continued rain in parts of north-central and northwest North Carolina on Tuesday, September 17, after a “historic” downpour deluged coastal towns in the state on Monday.This video was captured by John Downs, who said it shows rainy and cloudy weather in Valle Crucis, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Downs said the community has received more than 1.5 inches of rain in the span of eight hours.The National Weather Service said showers were expected to continue in the mountains through most of Tuesday, but rain chances would lessen throughout the week.
