At group of about 20 people looted a jewelry store in California’s San Francisco Bay area on Wednesday, June 12, security footage released by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety shows.The shocking footage shows a large group of people with hammers storming into PNG Jewelers, in Sunnyvale, breaking in from the front door. The store’s employees are seen running to lock themselves in side rooms just before the group of thieves storms in.The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said that the suspects fled the jewelry store in multiple vehicles before police officers were able to arrive at the scene.Police later took into custody five of the suspects who were trying to flee on foot after a car chase.The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said that some of the jewelry was recovered, but that the total value of what was stolen was unknown.There were no injuries during the robbery, which remains under investigation.
