Light snow fell on parts of central Colorado on Wednesday, October 30, with the heaviest snow accumulations expected in the Sawatch range, the National Weather Service (NWS) warned.Footage taken by Brian S Converse shows light snow showering Monument, north of Colorado Springs, on Wednesday.“It’s snowing!” he wrote on X.The NWS said rain showers could change to snow but residual ground warmth “should keep most accumulations confined to the grassy surfaces across the Pikes Peak region with an inch or two possible across northern El Paso county.”A freeze warning was in effect for El Paso, Pueblo, Crowley, Otero, Kiowa, Bent, Prowers, Huerfano, and western Las Animas counties until 10 am Thursday morning, according to the NWS.The weather service urged residents to take steps to protect plants and to prepare for sub-freezing temperatures as low as 23 degrees Fahrenheit.
