A late-night fire on November 19 tore through a two-story apartment building in North Highlands, California, injuring three people and displacing more than 40 residents, Metro Fire of Sacramento said.The fire, reported around 11:20 pm, spread quickly from the ground floor, forcing some residents to jump from balconies as their exits were blocked.“This building caught fire like the back of a box of matches. It was like somebody poured gasoline in there. In a matter of minutes, it was gone,” resident Nathaniel Figueroa told KCRA. “Honestly, I’ve lost everything.”Downed power lines added to the chaos as over 85 firefighters responded and evacuated two 16-unit buildings.The fire’s cause was under investigation.
