Two of three bald eagle eggs had hatched in Big Bear Valley, California, by March 3, footage captured on live camera shows.Live footage from Friends of Big Bear Valley (FBBV) caught the moment the first chick pipped and cracked its shell on Sunday afternoon, March 2, closely followed by its sibling the next morning.The delayed incubation of parents, Jackie and Shadow, “worked to make the chicks hatch closer together and be close to the same size,” FBBV said.“Jackie was obviously feeling the movement underneath her as she kept looking down and standing up to roll the eggs much more than usual. Shadow happily got a turn on the eggs to give Jackie a morning break.”The first chick fully broke out of its shell on Monday night, hatching at 11:26 pm, according to FBBV.The second chick “joined the party,” pushing itself out of its shell at 4:29 am, FBBV announced.As of Thursday, March 6, both chicks seem to be doing well, and the third egg was starting to hatch.
