'Stream of Fire' Lives Up to Its Name on Volcanic Italian Island

A fast-moving current of hot gas and volcanic matter, known as pyroclastic flow, could be seen tumbling down the side of the Sciara del Fuoco, or “Stream of Fire”, on Italy’s Stromboli Island this week.INGV Vulcani released both infrared and camera footage of the moment the flow entered the Tyrrhenian Sea.
