Dog Saved From Hot Car in Colorado Springs

A dog left in a hot vehicle for almost two hours was rescued by firefighters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Wednesday, July 17, according to local fire officials.The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) said they helped Animal Law Enforcement (ALE) officers break into the car to save the dog. ALE officers then took the dog into care at a local Humane Society shelter, according to the CSFD.“The dog was heavily panting, very hot, and showed signs of heatstroke,” the fire department said. “The owner was eventually cited,” they added.The CSFD said outside temperatures reached 82 degrees Fahrenheit (27.8 Celsius) that day. “After an hour of sitting in the sun the internal temperature of the car could’ve gotten well into the 130-degree mark.
