A gang of thieves in Valencia, Spain, attempted to steal three valuable statues by latching them to a car with a tow rope on August 12. CCTV footage shows the bungled theft as the rope snaps before they try again. After two successful raids, police tracked down the suspects and arrested them after a third attempt. The gang's motives are unclear as the statues created by artist Manuel Boix would have been recognizable on the black market.
