A stunning raw uncut emerald was auctioned in Salvador in the Brazilian state of Bahia on Wednesday. The giant 152-pound stone was mined in Pindobacu, known as the 'City of Emeralds'. Despite an estimated value of $168 million and a starting bid of nearly $17 million, the emerald sold on a conditional bid for only 5% of its apparent value.
