Hundreds of thousands of protesters rallied across Israel on Sunday, September 1, after the bodies of
six hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip were recovered by soldiers.The Times of Israel
reported that an estimated 300,000 people gathered in Tel Aviv and an additional 200,000 took part in other protests across the country.The Tel Aviv protest began with a march to the Begin Gate of the
IDF headquarters, where the crowd carried six symbolic coffins to represent the six bodies that were recovered on Saturday, according to the
report.
Israeli Police said 29 people were arrested, accused of attacking officers, rioting and vandalism.A police officer was injured in the demonstrations and taken to hospital for treatment, officers
