A series of fireworks surprised Oakland residents when the display went off on Saturday evening, November 23.Ian Servin told Storyful he was at home when he “heard some loud noises that sounded like fireworks outside my apartment” shortly after 10 pm on Saturday.“The intensity was surprising so I looked out my window and saw a pretty massive display going off and started recording,” Servin said.Servin’s footage shows dozens of fireworks going off in the Bay Area.The Oakland Police Department told Storyful it was investigating reports of the “illegal fireworks display,” which was set off on the 1800 block of Wood Street.All types of fireworks are illegal in the city of Oakland and can result in hefty fines and possible imprisonment.
