A small plane crashed upside down into the Merrimack River in Massachusetts on Monday. The pilot and sole occupant of the single-engine Van's Aircraft RV-6A was killed. Rescue efforts were hampered by the depth of the water. The plane had taken off from the Lawrence Municipal Airport.
