A mall in Upland, California, was the scene of a not-so-wholesome family outing recently, with police saying a stepdad and his teenage stepson were both detained for alleged shoplifting. The Upland Police Department
said that the teenager was first stopped and detained by an officer. Then, the stepfather was caught after “loading a large amount of clothing into a piece of luggage … without paying.”The stepfather tried to escape but “was quickly stopped, arrested, and with no flags on the play,” police
said, in a reference to the NFL-worthy tackle that stopped the suspect. The Upland Police Department
said the man was trying to steal nearly $900 in merchandise. The teenager was released to his mother, while the step-father was brought to jail, they said. Credit: Upland Police Department via Storyful
