Wildfire smoke filled parts of Arizona’s Grand Canyon on Monday, July 8, due to two major wildfires burning in southern Utah, park officials said.Footage posted to X by Grand Canyon National Park shows smoky haze blanket the famous tourist destination on Monday morning.According to the post, the smoke was caused by the Deer Springs and Silver King fires burning in Utah’s Kane and Piute counties.On Monday, Utah Gov Spencer Cox said fire conditions in the state would be “brutal” for the next two weeks.An excessive heat warning was in effect through the week, with high temperatures in the triple digits expected daily near the canyon.
