A winter storm warning was in effect in the Huntsville area on Friday, January 10, as the National Weather Service (NWS) warned of snow and sleet accumulation up to 4 inches across “all of northern Alabama.”The weather service urged drivers to “consider delaying all travel,” and if going on the roads, to “drive with extreme caution.”“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, have become slick and extremely hazardous,” the NWS said. “Travel is strongly discouraged! The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages.”A winter storm warning would remain in effect until Saturday.Footage taken by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office shows snowy conditions on Friday morning.
