The world's largest and oldest iceberg has resumed its drifting journey in the Southern Ocean after spending nearly a year trapped in a water vortex. A23a, a 1,500-square-mile 'mega-berg', had been stuck north of Antarctica's South Orkney Islands for months, rotating about 15 degrees counterclockwise every day. The British Antarctic Survey published their research on December 13.
