A knife-wielding man with his face swathed in bandages was detained by police as he strode down the center of a busy Los Angeles freeway on October 29.California Highway Patrol told Storyful that the man, who they brought to hospital, was mentally unstable and that the incident was not a pre-Halloween prank.Lisa Shields, who recorded this footage on Highway 10 in West Los Angeles, wrote that she just drove past an “escaped mental patient” and said that she rang the police who told her that the man was not playing a prank.Police did not confirm to Storyful that the man was an escapee.
