Friday rush hour was halted for a few minutes on February 7, as a herd of deer crossed the main thoroughfare of a park in Dublin, Ireland. The footage was recorded by Storyful journalist Laura Vasquez, who couldn’t hide her joy when she came upon the remarkable sight in the Phoenix Park.“Oh my God I’m dying! … I’m looking at something very magical right now”, Vasquez can be heard saying. In her video, dozens of deer can be seen safely making it to the other side of the road.Vasquez told Storyful that she was enjoying an end-of-week moment of solace in the park, talking to a friend over the phone, when she noticed that traffic had stopped.“It was such a wholesome moment, especially after a tough day. I still can’t believe it happened!” she said. The Phoenix Park was established as a
Royal Deer Park in 1662 and fallow deer were imported from Britain. They have been in the park ever since. Credit: Laura Vasquez via Storyful
