The interior of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem was left damaged after Israeli police carried out hundreds of arrests during clashes early on Wednesday, April 5.Footage recorded by Al Qastal News shows extensive damage to several rooms in the mosque.Israeli Police said they “arrested and removed” more than 350 people from Al-Aqsa overnight, after individuals “violently barricaded” themselves inside the holy site.Footage circulating online from the clashes shows police in riot gear beating people and fireworks detonating inside the mosque.Local media reported that multiple people were injured in the clashes, which occurred amid Ramadan and as Passover starts.
