A resident of Chavies, Kentucky, spotted a very unusual creature outside her home: a wallaby.Video captured by Lexie Mullins’s home security cameras shows the wallaby, which looks like a small kangaroo, outside her home on two different occasions, on November 9 and November 12.“I never thought I would see the day,” Mullins wrote in a Facebook post shortly after seeing the animal the first time.The marsupial belongs to the same family as kangaroos and quokkas and is native to Australia.At the time of writing, the wallaby was still on the lam. According to local news reports citing the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR), the wallaby was a legally owned pet that had escaped its owner, and efforts were underway to apprehend the animal.Storyful has contacted the KDFWR for a statement and update as to the animal’s whereabouts.
