Malibu residents headed back to the Pacific Coast Highway on January 12, days after flames from the Palisades Fire engulfed houses beside the beachside highway.Footage from Annestacia Komarovsk shows a man and a woman staring at remains of houses, along the Pacific Coast Highway. They can be heard identifying their neighbors’ home, specific walls, the roof, and a steel railing, among other items.“I’m sorry for your home,” a man can be heard telling them in the footage.Portions of Malibu remained under evacuation orders as of Sunday evening, as the Palisades Fire kept burning.Cal Fire estimated that about 5,000 structures may have been damaged or destroyed in the fire, which has charred over 23,000 acres and was 23 percent contained by 6:57pm on Sunday.
