A group of men accused of smuggling £210 million ($266 million) of cocaine in a banana shipment were sentenced to prison on December 3.“Petko Zhutev from Bulgaria, Gjergji Diko from Italy, and Albanian nationals Bruno Kuci, Olsi Ebeja, and Erik Muci” were arrested at an industrial estate in north London in February 21, the National Crime Agency (NCA) said.Police found 2.7 tons of cocaine in 41 pallets of bananas, they said.“The seizure is believed to be one of the largest ever of its type in the UK,” the NCA said.The NCA said, “Muci was sentenced to 33 years, Zhutev to 27 years, Diko to 18 years, Kuci to 21 years and Ebeja to 17 years.” Credit: National Crime Agency via Storyful
