Mud and debris flooded Trabuco Canyon, California, after heavy rain triggered flooding late Wednesday into Thursday, February 14.Evacuation orders were issued for parts of Los Angeles County, including Trabuco Canyon, as flash flood alerts were issued by the National Weather Service.The City of Los Angeles issued a media statement Wednesday on the wet weather, which follows the deadly Palisades Fire in January.“Recent burn areas from the Palisades, Hurst, Kenneth, and Sunset fires are at a higher risk of debris flows and stormwater runoff that may contain hazardous substances. Additional safety messages may be directed at these neighborhoods on Thursday,” the statement said.Footage released by OC Public Works shows Trabuco Canyon, about 50 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles, with floodwaters carrying mud and debris down.“Trabuco Creek moving with river-like conditions, but holding up,” OC Public Works wrote.
