A storm surge flooded multiple roads in Bradenton, Florida, on Thursday, September 26, as Hurricane Helene neared landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region.Footage from the Bradenton Police Department shows flooding along the banks of the Manatee River and at the Palma Sola Causeway.The causeway and other roads leading to Anna Maria Island were to be closed indefinitely after the island “sustained severe damage from storm surge,” police said.Residents were asked to conserve water for 24 to 48 hours due to a strain on water treatment systems caused by the surge.
