Shabbat Table of '240 Vacant Seats' Set in Cincinnati for Israeli Hostages

A Shabbat table of “240 vacant seats” was set up in Cincinnati on November 10 in a tribute to the Israeli hostages still being held after their abduction during Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7.Scott Ford filmed this video in Cincinnati’s Washington Park on Friday morning. The display was created by the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, who said the table would be at the park until 5 pm Friday.“In conjunction with the many Israelis who call Cincinnati home, the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati is honoring those 240 hostages with the largest Shabbat table in the city—a table with 240 empty spaces representing the 240 lives that hang in the balance as Israel wages war on Hamas, a war meant to eradicate Hamas and bring peace to the region,” the federation said.
