Frigid air blasted parts of Montana on Thursday, January 11, with temperatures in some areas falling below zero, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).The NWS said the Flathead Valley, Kalispell, and its vicinity were experiencing heavy snow, winds up to 55 mph, and wind chills as low as -35 degrees Fahrenheit by noon on Thursday.A source from Batavia posted this footage, reporting that his thermometer read -2 F.“It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood,” he joked on X.The bitter conditions were expected to continue through Thursday evening, according to the NWS.
