Zelensky Calls on Leaders to Stand Against Russia in UN Speech
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia threatens the “international rules-based order” during his address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Tuesday, September 19.In his remarks to the general debate at the 78th Session of the UNGA, Zelensky warned world leaders of the consequences of failing to stand up to Russia. “Many seats in the General Assembly Hall may become empty if Russia succeeds with its treachery and aggression,” he said.He concluded his remarks by calling for unity in addressing Russia’s military aggression. “Weaponization must be restrained. War crimes must be punished. Deported people must come back home. And the occupier must return to their own land. We must be united to make it. And we will do it,” he said.
