Soldiers from the US Army’s 161st Engineer Support Company were sent to assist civilian authorities with supply distribution in hard-hit Spruce Pine, in Mitchell County, North Carolina, following Hurricane Helene.Video filmed on October 6 and distributed via DVIDS shows soldiers moving “food, water, and essential supplies,” DVIDS said, at Harris Middle School.Spruce Pine, which is located along the North Toe River, was overrun with flooding, mud, and debris during Helene.
