A large fire broke out at a former college campus in Bristol, Virginia, on the morning of Friday, December 20.WJHL
reported that firefighters were working to mitigate the fire at around 1am. Shortly after 2am, the main building on campus had collapsed.The Virginia Intermont College, which opened in 1884 and became co-educational in 1972, shut its doors in 2014 due to financial issues and the loss of its accreditation,
according to reports. The site had been unused ever since.This footage of the burning campus was captured by Neal Osborne, a Bristol City Councilman, who said that “words can’t express the sadness and the effect this will have on our city.”Multiple fires have occurred at the campus in the last few years,
