Fred the Tree, a famous
pine to be seen on the disused Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys, has been decorated for the holidays again this year, despite growing in a hard-to-reach spot.Footage from Daniel Eidsmoe shows the resilient tree at dusk, draped in colorful lights.“Although the tree is impossible to get to by car a group of mysterious ‘elves’ have started decorating it for Christmas using solar-powered Christmas lights,” Eidsmoe told Storyful. “Fred and its lights can be seen for miles as tourists drive between Marathon and Big Pine Key in the Florida Keys.”According to a Facebook page
dedicated to Fred, the tree is decorated each year by a group of volunteer “elves”.According to local
press, the tree has been decorated by two Florida Keys residents since around 2010. Credit: Daniel Eidsmoe via Storyful
