Mesmerizing ice formations were seen on Lake Michigan amid frigid temperatures in the region on Tuesday, January 7.Photographer Nathan Voytovick, of Nate’s Dronography, captured this video off the coast of Saint Joseph, Michigan. The video features shelf ice and ice pancakes, which are “circular flat pieces of ice with a raised rim; the shape and rim are due to repeated collisions,” according to the National Weather Service (NWS).The NWS forecast freezing temperatures into the end of the week for southwest Michigan, with lows in the teens and wind chills dropping into the single digits.
