Protesters from Youth Demand covered Pablo Picasso’s Motherhood painting at the National Gallery in London with a picture of a Palestinian mother and child as part of protest action on Wednesday, October 9.Footage released by Youth Demand shows activists plastering the photo of the bloodied mother and child, taken by Palestinian journalist Ali Jadallah over Picasso’s work.Other activists poured red paint on the floor of the gallery, the group said.Youth Demand is calling for a two-way arms embargo on Israel and for the new UK government to halt all new oil and gas licences granted since 2021.The group warned of further action on November 11.
