Russian state media said at least 27 people, including five children, were injured when a freight train collided with a passenger train in Murmansk region on Wednesday, December 18.Three of the injured were in serious condition, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.The crash happened shortly after 4 pm at the rural Knyazhaya train station and caused the derailment of four passenger cars seen in these photos, the ministry said.The injured passengers were taken to hospitals in Kandalaksha and Polyarnye Zori, while the remaining 314 passengers on board continued along the route aboard eight undamaged carriages, the ministry said.
