Multiple airports in Florida planned to suspend flights ahead of Hurricane Milton, which was expected to make landfall in the Gulf Coast region on Wednesday, local media reported.Footage filmed by Ekaterina Popova shows a deserted terminal in Tampa International Airport on Tuesday morning. Popova told Storyful she was traveling to New York on a 7 am flight to escape the storm.“My flight was probably one of the last ones out before they canceled everything else,” she told Storyful.At 9 am Tuesday, the airport said all operations were suspended, and staff were working “to secure the airfield, terminals, jet bridges and ground equipment.”Other airports due to cease operations included those in Orlando, Lakeland, Sarasota, and St Pete-Clearwater.
