Philadelphia police were searching for a person who fired a gun into the air during celebrations following the Eagles’ victory over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship on Sunday, January 26.Jon McCann, also known as The Philly Captain, captured this video showing the moment a gun was raised into the air and fired multiple times.McCann can be heard stating, “I believe that was a gun.”In a press conference on Monday, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L Parker confirmed “one man fired a gun in the air,” and asked Philadelphians not to engage in such behavior.“You don’t want to be in a celebratory moment [and] have a tragedy occur. You don’t want that. So please, please, don’t shoot guns in the air,” Mayor Parker pleaded.She said that detectives had video of the person who shot the gun and were currently investigating. She indicated she was confident the person would be apprehended.Additionally, the mayor said a person was arrested after stabbing someone outside Lincoln Financial Field, and at least six people were injured after an auto versus pedestrian crash on Sunday.She said the driver of the car that crashed was apprehended and charges were pending. The Philadelphia Police Department said the crash did not appear intentional.“By and large, Philly, we celebrated responsibly … yes, there are some exceptions, but again, shoutout to our Philadelphia Police Department, our office of emergency management, our fire department, and all of our first responders for all of their strong work last night and every day,” Mayor Parker said.
