STORY: The images, which were taken on September 4, showed a 'selfie' of the spacecraft, earth, and moon respectively.Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) wrote on a social media platform, "Aditya-L1, destined for the Sun-Earth L1 point, takes a selfie and images of the Earth and the Moon."Following quickly on the success of India's recent moon landing, the country's space agency had launched a rocket on September 2 to study the sun in its first solar mission. The 'Aditya-L1' is designed to travel 930,000 miles over four months, far short of the sun, which is more than 93,000,000 miles from earth. It is meant to stop its journey in a kind of parking lot in space, called a Lagrange Point, where objects tend to stay put because of balancing gravitational forces, reducing fuel consumption for the spacecraft.
