Palestinian officials in the West Bank accused Israeli forces of setting fire to a mosque and damaged its contents during surprise dawn raids on several mosques in Nablus on Friday, March 7, that obstructed people from attending morning prayers.This footage from the Palestine Post show significant fire damage inside al-Nasr Mosque, a historic mosque in Nablus’s Old City.In a statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs described the mosque raids as a “barbaric” violation, and accused Israeli forces of deliberately starting the fire to the al-Nasr mosque and then preventing the local fire department from responding.Three people were detained during the raids, according to WAFA, a news agency owned by the Palestinian National Authority.CCTV footage circulating online shows Israeli soldiers entering the mosque, inspecting it, and taking photographs.The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had not commented on the operation by the time of publication.
