A lake-effect snow warning was in place for the Buffalo area on Thursday, December 12, as the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast up to 20 inches of snow and winds gusting as high as 40 mph.The NWS said New York’s northern Erie and Genesee counties should expect “considerable blowing and drifting snow,” with the heaviest snow expected south of Buffalo.“Travel will be very difficult with deep snow cover on roads and very poor visibility,” the weather service said.Footage taken by Aaron Michael shows blizzard conditions in West Seneca – a suburb of Buffalo – on Thursday morning.“Live look from the tundra,” he wrote on X.The lake-effect snow warning would remain in effect until Friday afternoon, per the NWS.
