Travelers were seen sleeping at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in the early hours of Thursday, January 30, as activity halted following a deadly collision between a passenger plane and a military aircraft near the facility.The DC Fire and EMS chief, John Donnelly, said it was believed that there were no survivors from the accident, adding that emergency services were “switching from a rescue operation to a recovery operation.”According to American Airlines, the airplane was carrying 60 passengers and four crew members.Footage captured by Allison Lau shows scenes around 6 am at the airport, with people sleeping on benches and screens displaying a message that read: “Due to an emergency situation, Reagan National Airport is currently closed.
