Animals at the Audubon Nature Institute’s zoo and aquarium in New Orleans, Louisiana, were given the opportunity to “choose” a winner ahead of Super Bowl LIX, scheduled to take place in the city on Sunday, February 9.The choices were made by three animals - a penguin, an aardvark, and a giraffe - who were each presented with two snack-filled containers bearing the logos of either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Philadelphia Eagles.At Audubon Aquarium, Sassy the penguin backed his “bird brethren,” the Eagles, while at Audubon Zoo, an aardvark named Leia went straight for the Chiefs box, the institute said.The tie-break was decided by a giraffe named Maverick, who buried his snout in a bucket of food adorned with the Eagles logo. “He was named for the Top Gun pilot with the ‘need for speed’ and obviously he thinks the speed of Saquon Barkley and the Eagles offense will lead the birds to victory Sunday night,” Audubon Nature Institute said.
