Chinese bulk carrier holding 1932 tons of commodities runs aground on Russian island

The AN Yang 2, a Chinese merchant ship carrying a combined 1929 tons of fuel oil, diesel fuel, engine oil and sand ran aground on the Russian island of Sakhalin, north of Japan on February 8. Authorities say the bulk carrier's 20-person crew is safe and well as shipping company Yangpu Anyang Shipping conducts a rescue operation. Two holes were discovered in the vessel but officials say there is no risk of fuel leakage.
