California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a
state of emergency on Tuesday, January 7, as wildfires fueled by
strong winds burned in the Los Angeles area.A fire in the Pacific Palisades area had burned 2,921 acres and prompted evacuation orders for several neighborhoods, according to

Eaton Fire, started near Pasadena, prompting school closures and evacuations as it burned 400 acres with zero containment by Tuesday night. Fires were also reported in Altadena and Sylmar.Cal Fire
